"BULLFIGHTS"
LOCKS PICTURE, TIME TO MIX
Hollywood, California,
- Quixotic Films is pleased to announce completion of a locked picture on their
romantic-comedy entitled "Bullfights",
written by Jose Ruisanchez, starring his twin brother Javier Ruisanchez and produced
by both.
"Bullfights", directed by accomplished
filmmaker Bruce Wayne Gillies,
is the story of love, the power of the imagination and the bonds of friendship and
family. Centered around five young professionals and their search for love and
the lengths they will go to find the right person, "Bullfights'" original plot is both
humorous and charming.
Additionally, Bruce
has directed three well- received short films and two new music videos. He has directed second unit for a hit TV action-adventure drama -
plus - he has been the director of several television sports, entertainment and news shows
and many commercials.
The privately funded,
low-budget motion picture "Bullfights" was line produced by
Patricia J. Priest and shot by Director of Photography Ben Kufrin. It is one of the
first feature length films to use the
revolutionary new Panasonic 480p Progressive Scan format. With this system, the
filmmakers will up-convert the finished film to HD and eventually realize a finished 35MM
print for theatrical distribution and film festival
screenings.
"Bullfights" also stars
Jeffrey Stubblefield ("Pedestrian"), Robyn Cohen,
Will Burke, John Zacchino and features Slammer the dog, best known for his
performance in "There's Something About Mary".
Helmer Bruce Wayne Gillies expertly kept the
delightfully amuzing BULLFIGHTS on track throughout the limited 12-day shooting schedule.
Concentrating on
performance from the players Gillies was able to employ creative, efficient and
classic filming techniques. Most of all, by knowing exactly what was needed to tell
the story -- and getting it - And more!
Meanwhile, the
producers are pursuing additional finishing funds, a composer, and a post sound house to
mix the final soundtrack for the film scheduled to premiere Spring of 2001.
Worldwide distribution
rights in all media for "Bullfights"
remain available and the producers are interested in any offers that may be submitted
at this early stage.
